ADVICE FOR GOING ABROAD
Count down to take off...
- If possible consult our Practice Nurse at least 2 months prior to travel. She will advise on immunisations and medications.
- If travelling in the EU please collect an E111 form from your Post Office. If travelling further afield make sure you have adequate insurance.
- Take a small First Aid Kit.
- Remember Personal Hygiene is essential
- Avoid bites from insects with insect repellents and covering up. Avoid animal bites.
- Be careful with raw vegetables, salads, fruits, shellfish and ice-cubes, these are common cause for stomach upsets while abroad.
- Avoid the sun around midday - use high factor sun screen.
- Sexually transmitted diseases are a major threat throughout the world. Condoms offer some protection.
