You can reduce the risk of catching the FLU virus by a simple one off jab. Antibiotics do not work against viruses and the only effective treatment for Flu is 'prevention'. So why not come to the surgery and have a Flu injection. It will reduce the risk of getting this horrible debilitating illness that can be life threatening.
This year we are offering the following Flu Clinics, no appointment is necessary and we will try not to keep you waiting:
8.00 am - 12 noon 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm |
8.00 am - 12 noon 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm |
For more information about the flu vaccine and the pneumo vaccine please see the Seasonal Health Advice page.
It has been necessary to amend the current appointment system process. As from Monday 8th September, patients requiring an appointment with a doctor are asked to phone in on the day.
All appointments for that day will be open and there is no longer a need to telephone after 1.00 pm for an afternoon appointment.
For patients that would like to pre-book an appointment with the doctor in advance, we have the facility from 8.10 am to 9.10 am for this purpose.
For more information, please see the Appointment Information page.
Redgate Medical Centre has introduced a new improved service for requesting a repeat medication. The surgery repeat prescription telephone line closed on Monday 29th Septembe 2003. We have found that this service has caused serious errors, incorrect medication or dose and prescriptions not being printed and directed to the correct pharmacy.
This will ensure that this service is safer for you the patient and more efficient and effective for everyone, patients, doctors and pharmacists.
The pharmacists in Bridgwater are working with the surgery to reduce the number of steps a patient takes to get their medication. Patients will only need to phone the pharmacist of their choice, request the repeat medication from them and allow 3 days before collecting the medication from their chosen pharmacy.
This system will also benefit the pharmacy as they will know in advance what stock of medication is required, thus reducing the number of 'part' completed dispensed requests.
By contacting the pharmacy directly we hope that this will reduce the number of prescriptions sent to either the wrong pharmacy for dispensing or waiting here at the surgery to be collected by the patient.
A further benefit to the patient will be that this will free up the over burdened phone lines at the surgery, thus patients requiring an appointment will be able to get through.
So there are now FOURoptions for requesting repeat prescriptions:
