Child protection is everyone's responsibility.

Child abuse is unfortunately probably quite common, but serious abuse, as seen in cases like Victoria Climbié are very rare.  This means it can be difficult for clinicians to know where they fit in the child protection system, and what to do if they suspect deliberate harm.
